Capitolwire: Advocates commemorate third anniversary of pay raise
HARRISBURG (July 7) – Eight advocacy organizations commemorated the third anniversary of the infamous 2005 state pay raise with one slice of cake.
Placed on a lectern in the Capitol rotunda, the cake represented “the one slice of reform in three years, and it’s not that big at all,” said Gene Stilp, founder of Taxpayers & Ratepayers United, one of the organizations that commemorated the pay raise by criticizing lawmakers Monday morning.
