HARRISBURG — A Democrat who supported legalized slot machines and a Republican who opposed them announced a joint plan Tuesday to tighten rules on casino oversight.

The bill “would create greater public confidence in Pennsylvania’s gaming act and Gaming Control Board,” said state Sen. Jane Orie, R-McCandless, the majority whip. “That confidence has been shaken recently, and we must restore the complete integrity of the process in the public eye.”
