About Me

I’m a Medill School of Journalism graduate working at the Center for American Progress in Washington, D.C. As Administrative and Operations Manager of the Center’s project to end genocide, Enough, I help devise and implement policies that maximize the project’s efficiency and effectiveness.

For two and a half years before this summer, I oversaw a CAP program to fund and train a network of 50 alternative student media organizations on college campuses. I also planned conferences and traveled around the country to train college journalism staffs. Before that, I worked as a political reporter for a variety of newspapers, including the Philadelphia Inquirer and Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, and a web site and wire service, Capitolwire.com. As a senior in college I was named one of the top 100 student journalists in the country by UWire, then a division of CBS.

I’m passionate about effective and efficient organizations, and while I’m no longer working as a journalist, I still believe in the importance of good journalism to a well-functioning society. Thomas Jefferson said that information is the currency of democracy, and I agree.
